UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men’s golf team returns to action Sunday and Monday with its second-straight tournament in the state of South Carolina when the Nittany Lions compete in the General Hackler Championship at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The event, hosted by Coastal Carolina, features a 15-team field that includes Coastal Carolina, Oklahoma State, Auburn, ETSU, East Carolina, UNCG, North Florida, NC State, Louisville, Kent State, UCF, Penn State, Liberty, South Carolina, and Virginia.
Penn State is playing in the General Hackler Championship for the third-straight year. The Nittany Lions finished 14th a season ago. Action begins with 36 holes on Monday before the final 18 holes Tuesday.
Penn State is playing its second-straight tournament in the Palmetto State, as the Nittany Lions are coming off the Colleton River Collegiate in Bluffton, S.C. on Monday and Tuesday. The Nittany Lions closed the tournament strong, shooting 5-under as a team in the final round to finish in 12th place of the strong 15-team field. Graduate student Lou Olsakovsky notched his fifth top-15 finish of the 2021-22 season to lead Penn State, finishing tied for 12th at 5-under, 211.
