COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Penn State women’s golf team resumes play after a month off at the Lady Buckeye Invitational on Friday and Saturday in its final tune up before the B1G Championships next weekend.
The Nittany Lions will be making their first trip to the Lady Buckeye Invitational in four years as they last competed at the 2018 event finishing ninth in the 14-team field in a weather shortened 36-hole event that year.
Penn State is coming off back-to-back top-10 finishes at the North Florida Invitational and the Briar’s Creek Invitational last month and look poised for another strong showing this week at the par-72, 6,319-yard Scarlet Course at the Ohio State Golf Club.
The format of the 2022 Lady Buckeye Invitational provides a great chance for the Nittany Lions to prepare for the B1G Championships next week as opposed to the normal five count four events they usually play, this weekend will feature the same six count four format used at the B1G Championships.
The field will also be Big Ten heavy as along with the Nittany Lions and host Buckeyes, five of the other eight teams competing are from the Big Ten as Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska and Rutgers are also in the field. Indianapolis, Kent State and Xavier round out the 10-team field.
Play will begin on Friday morning with 36 continuous holes following an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and will conclude on Saturday morning with final round tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Live scoring for the duration of the tournament will be available HERE.
