SAMMAMISH, Wash. – Washington State men’s golf redshirt senior Max Sekulic ended the first day of the 2022 Pac-12 Men’s Golf Championships inside the top-40 on the player leaderboard, as the Rycroft, Canada native carded 4-over 146 to sit in a tie for 34th through two rounds of play.
Sekulic got the Pac-12 Championships started by shooting 1-over 72 in the first round. The redshirt senior wrapped up his first day of play at Aldarra Golf Club by carding 4-over 76 in the second round. Sekulic was one of two WSU golfers to finish inside the top-50 on the player leaderboard through two rounds of play, as sophomore Jaden Cantafio ended his day tied for 46th. The Tustin, California native posted scores of 73-75 in the first two rounds to end Monday at 6-over 148.
Washington State concluded the first day of the 2022 Pac-12 Championships in 11th place after carding 35-over 745 through two rounds. WSU ended the first round in ninth place after shooting 8-over 363. The Cougars then posted a score of 382 (+27) in the second round.
Host Washington leads the field after 36 holes of play at the 2022 Pac-12 Championships. The Huskies hold a four-stroke lead over Arizona State heading into the third round. Stanford’s Barclay Brown sits in first place on the player leaderboard after shooting 7-under 136 in the first two rounds of the tournament.
The third round of the 2022 Pac-12 Men’s Golf Championships takes places Tuesday, April 26. The Cougars tee off at 11:17 a.m. PT. Fans can follow the tournament’s third round via live results at GolfStat.com.
