Lai at 3-Over After 36 Holes at NCAA Regionals


NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Graduate Eddy Lai recorded a 2-over 72 on day two of the NCAA New Haven Regional Championships at Yale Golf Course on Tuesday. Lai moves to 3-over and tied for 45th.
 
In order to advance to the NCAA Championships, Lai must finish first among the individual group of competitors. He currently trails VCU’s Adrian Vagberg and Caleb Manuel by seven strokes. Vagberg and Manuel are tied for sixth in the field at 4-under to par.
 
Lai shot a 2-over 36 on the front nine with birdies on the par-4 second and par-4 seventh. He finished his second round round bogey free on the back nine, recording a par on every whole.
 
Lai looks to advance to the second NCAA Championship of his career and his first as an individual when he tees off for the final round at 6:42 a.m. PT/9:42 a.m. ET.
