Men's Golf Looking Towards Top Step with 2022-23 Schedule

Fresh off a NCAA runner-up appearance, Arizona State men’s golf head coach Matt Thurmond has announced the schedule he believes will position the Sun Devils for a run to the top step.

ASU will compete in seven states and two countries as the Sun Devils travel to Mexico for the fourth time in five years.

“Once again we will be playing one of the most competitive schedules you can possibly play,” says Coach Thurmond.  “From Hawaii, to Mexico, and through Texas and Illinois, and all the way to Florida, there isn’t anywhere we won’t go.  Several of our courses are PGA TOUR level courses and venues.  We travel far and wide to return right back here to Arizona for the Thunderbird Collegiate in April and the NCAA Championships at Grayhawk for one more time.

“The schedule is a mix of grasses, time zones, temperatures, course types, and competitive fields and will push our guys to adapt and learn and be able perform in any and all circumstances.  We can’t wait to get started and especially look forward making another run at an NCAA Championships here in Arizona.”

The total was the third lowest three-round score in Arizona State history. ASU placed three student-athletes in the top five with Chun An Yu and Won Jun Lee tying for third at nine-under par.

The Sun Devils produced an 11-under 269, good for five strokes better than the next best on the day and pushed them to a seven stroke victory after starting the round stroke back of Arizona.
