Men’s Golf Earns All-Academic Team Award from GCAA


East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State’s men’s golf team was among a group of collegiate programs recognized as All-Academic Teams by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

To earn the All-Academic Team award from the GCAA, teams must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

This is the 10th-straight year the men’s golf team has been recognized with a GCAA All-Academic Team honor.

Last week, four members of the MSU team were selected to the GCAA All-American Scholar list, August Meekhof, James Piot, Bradley Smithson and Troy Taylor II earning the honor. To be eligible for the GCAA All-American Scholar list, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior, have a stroke average under 76.0 in Division I and carry a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2.

This was the third-straight year at least four members of the team were named All-American Scholars.
