Bradley Named Purdue’s Director of Golf

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Following nine successful years as the head coach of the Purdue men’s golf program, Rob Bradley has been elevated to the Director of Golf position following Devon Brouse’s retirement, announced by the Director of Athletics Mike Bobinski.

Bradley will remain as the head coach of the men’s golf team, but will now have oversight of both men’s and women’s golf programs moving forward. Zack Byrd (women’s golf head coach), Andrew Sapp (men’s golf assistant coach), Lauren Guiao (women’s golf assistant coach) and Andrew Merrill (director of ops / strength coach) have all joined the staff in the last two months.

“I am honored to move into the new role as Director of Golf at Purdue. It’s exciting to be able to work alongside coach Byrd and the rest of the staff,” Bradley said. “We are creating an atmosphere that will give both of our teams the resources to take their games to the next level.”

Entering his 10th year with Purdue, Bradley has transformed Purdue golf into a force in the Big Ten and nationally. The Boilermakers enjoyed their finest season under Bradley a year ago, finishing the year ranked in the nation’s top 25 most of the season and boasting their highest final national ranking in 20 years. Three different players were named all-Big Ten for the first time since 1981 and Purdue reached NCAA Regionals for the 7th time in eight possible seasons under Bradley.

Meanwhile, the women’s team finished 12th at the NCAA Championships last May and welcomes in head coach Zack Byrd to lead the team. Byrd has already made an impact on the recruiting trail, signing the nation’s top transfer in Momo Sugiyama, who was a first-team All-Big West honoree as a freshman at Hawaii, leading the Rainbow Wahine to their first conference title in school history. Byrd also welcomes back several key members from last year’s squad.
