Zach Rosendale Named Women’s Golf Assistant Coach

East Lansing, Mich. – Former Michigan State men’s golfer Zach Rosendale was named assistant women’s golf coach by Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll on Wednesday.

Rosendale, a 2021 MSU graduate, takes over for Caroline Powers-Ellis, who was named the head coach at Notre Dame earlier this summer.

“We are thrilled to welcome Zach Rosendale to our staff,” Slobodnik-Still said. “Zach played for the Spartans and has all of the qualifications we look for in our student-athletes and our staff members.

“He is loyal, dedicated, hard-working, energetic and passionate about Michigan State, the game of golf and helping our program and each of our players reach all of their dreams and goals.  Zach will be an asset to our program and he will help us continue the tradition of excellence we have established for 25 years, both on the course and in the classroom.”

Rosendale was a four-year letterwinner for the Spartans’ men’s golf team under Head Coach Casey Lubahn. He was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar as a senior in 2021, when he earned his bachelor of arts in social science education, with a minor in history education. Rosendale played in 21 tournaments during his career and was part of two teams that reached the NCAA Regionals.

Rosendale spent last year as a Player Development Professional at Forest Akers Golf Course in East Lansing and was also a volunteer coach for the 1st Tee of Michigan.

A native of St. Johns, Mich., Rosendale helped lead St. Johns High School to two team state championships and won the individual title in 2017, when he was named Mr. Golf for the State of Michigan.
