The Ladies European Tour (LET) returns to Switzerland this week as Golfpark Holzhäusern hosts the 2022 edition of the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open.
It is the third consecutive year that the LET has been back in Switzerland after an eight-year hiatus before with Wales’ Amy Boulden and Thailand’s Atthaya Thitikul winning the tournament in 2020 and 2021, respectively.
This year sees an excellent field ready to take on the challenges that Golfpark Holzhäusern has to offer with 126 players set to tee it up.
There will be no fewer than eight Swiss players in the field hoping to win their home tournament including Kim Metraux, who sits 25th in the 2022 Race to Costa del Sol.
It is an environment where the 27-year-old thrives having finished in a tie for third place at the past two iterations and she will be hoping to go better this time and join her sister in the 2022 LET winner’s circle.
Local talented amateur Elena Moosmann will be looking forward to teeing it up on her home course once again after she finished alongside Metraux in last year’s competition.
Six LET winners from the 2022 season will be seeking to add to their accolades as Lee-Anne Pace (Investec SA Women’s Open), Linn Grant (Joburg Ladies Open, Mithra Belgian Ladies Open, Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed, Skaftö Open), Tiia Koivisto (Jabra Ladies Open), Manon De Roey (Aramco Team Series – Bangkok Individual), Meghan MacLaren (Australian Women’s Classic – Bonville) and Jana Melichova (Tipsport Czech Ladies Open) are all competing.
And for Grant, who is second in the Race to Costa del Sol rankings, it will be her first start since winning the 2022 Skaftö Open and she will be looking to close the gap on Race leader Maja Stark.
Several names who did well in last year’s tournament including Norway’s Marianne Skarpnord (second place), Italy’s Virginia Elena Carta (T5), France’s Emma Grechi and Wales’ Chloe Williams (both T7) will be hoping finish further up the leaderboard.
Austria’s Emma Spitz and Sweden’s Sara Kjellker, who both finished in the top 10 at last week’s Åland 100 Ladies Open by Alandsbanken, will be looking to replicate their performances.
While French amateur Nastasia Nadaud, who recently completed a wire-to-wire victory on the LET Access Series at the Goteborg Open, is also in the field.
