Dean Burmester What’s In The Bag?
After winning the 2017 Tshwane Open to collect his first ever European Tour victory, Dean Burmester had to wait over four years to once again get back into the winner’s circle. He did at the 2021 Tenerife Open thanks to a final round 62, which gave him a five-stroke victory. Let’s take a look inside the bag of the South African professional.

Driver
TaylorMade Stealth Plus
Burmester has been one of the longest hitters on the DP World Tour for a number of years and he has used a couple of different models over the last couple of years. He had been using a TaylorMade SIM2 and then a Titleist TSi3 for a while but he currently has a TaylorMade Stealth Plus model in the bag.
Returning after a year away from the SIM2 range is the moveable weight positioned just behind the face of the driver. This driver is aimed at those faster swinging golfers or those looking for a driver set-up to promote a certain shot shape. For us, it was also the longest, producing outstanding ball speed, carry and total distance performance.
Fairway Wood
TaylorMade Stealth Plus
Burmester then uses a TaylorMade Stealth Plus three-wood with around 15 degree of loft. It has a compact 175cc head with an adjustable loft sleeve that can be custom-fit with a range of premium shafts. Aimed at better players, Stealth Plus has an infinity edge carbon crown that is 12% larger than the SIM2 Titanium fairways. Using more carbon in the crown allows weight to be moved lower in the clubhead and mass to be re-engineered in the 80g silver V Steel sole for better turf interaction, reduced drag and higher launch.
