SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Freshman Caleb Surratt shot 7-under on the day to move into the individual lead and the 11th-ranked Tennessee men’s golf team is in fourth place entering the final round at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate.

After carding a 6-under score in round one, Surratt made nine birdies on Saturday to take hold of first place in the 90-man field. The Indian Trail, North Carolina, native is 13-under through two rounds holds a one-stroke lead over Oregon’s Owen Avrit entering Sunday’s final round.
Redshirt junior Bryce Lewis improved his round one score by three strokes on Saturday, shooting 4-under and moving into the top 20 on the leaderboard. Saturday’s round marked his 50th career round of par or better as a Vol.
Redshirt junior Jake Hall did not record a counting round during round one, but rebounded to shoot the same score as Lewis on Saturday—tying for Tennessee’s second-best round with a 4-under scorecard. Hall is tied for 41st place.
Redshirt sophomore Cade Russell carded his second straight round under par on Saturday, shooting 1-under. Russell is tied for 35th place.
Redshirt freshman Lance Simpson recorded a 2-under counting round during his collegiate debut on Friday, but shot 3-over on Saturday. Simpson is tied for 62nd place entering Sunday.
