LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior Jiri Zuska carded a 7-under-par 203 to lead the University of Louisville men’s golf team to an 11th-place finish at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate on Sunday.
The Cardinals ended the final round at 9-under-par after shooting 278-269-284=831 on the par 70 Mirabel Golf Club.
Auburn captured the tournament title at 45-under-par, while Arizona State, Florida State, Georgia Tech rounded out the top five.
UofL closed the final round by shooting a 4-over-par 284.
Zuska put together the second-best overall performance of his career by shooting 67-66-70=203 to tie for 17th place – 11 shots off the lead. Caleb Surratt of Tennessee won the tournament with an 18-under-par 192.
Max Kennedy entered the final round at 3-under-par but shot a 2-over-par 72 to tie for 31st place, while Sebastian Moss ended play in a tie for 44th after shooting a 1-under-par 71-70-68=209. He put together the team’s top round on Sunday with a 68.
Jackson Brimfield tied for 70th after his scores of 74-66-74=214 and Pierce Grieve tied for 80th with his rounds of 7369-74=216.
The Cardinals will be back in action on Sept. 19-20 at the Bearcat Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio.
