KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Sophomore Bailey Davis tied for second at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship on Tuesday, notching the best finish of her collegiate career (T2) and now holds the second-lowest 54-hole score in tournament history at 203 (-10).
In Monday’s second round, Davis broke the all-time tournament record for lowest single-round score, carding a bogey-free 63 (-8) to tie the program record for lowest individual round.
The White Plains, Maryland, native carried her momentum into Tuesday’s round, shooting 2-under on the last nine holes to post a 70 (-1). Her tied-for-second finish marked Davis’ second top-10 finish of her young Tennessee career.
Freshman Manassanan Chotikabhukkana shot 2-over during Tuesday’s final round, finishing tied for 29th place at +4, 217. Junior Paula Kirner, who competed as an individual, carded an even-par round (71) and wrapped up the tournament tied for 33rd place at +5.
Freshman Caroline Patterson also competed as an individual, and junior Kayla Holden both posted 73s on Tuesday. The duo finished tied for 36th at 6-over.
Vanessa Gilly, a junior, recorded a 72 (+1) to conclude the event tied for 41st place at +7. Fifth-year Emily Hawkins recorded her best round of the tournament Tuesday, carding a 72 to finish tied for 64th place (+16).
Fifth-year Carolina Caminoli, who rounded out Tennessee’s individuals, shot 7-over in the final round to finish tied for 72nd place (+21). Overall, Tennessee wrapped up the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship tied for sixth place with a 54-hole score of 858 (+6).
