WOLCOTT, Colo. – The Washington State women’s golf team has a quick turn-around, as the Cougars head to the Centennial State to play in the 2022 GOLFWEEK Red Sky Classic just days after WSU finished in a tie for fourth in its season-opening tournament. The three-day tournament will take place Sept. 26-28 at the Red Sky Golf Club.
The Course and Format
The 2022 Red Sky Classic will take place on the Fazio Course at the Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott, Colorado. It is a 6,257-yard course that plays as a par-72. Each day of the tournament will feature one 18-hole round. Tee times for the first and second round will take place at 9 a.m. PT, while Wednesday’s third round will feature an 8:30 a.m. PT shotgun start.

Along with Washington State, the 2022 GOLFWEEK Red Sky Classic will feature Central Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, East Tennessee State, Eastern Michigan, Evansville, Fresno State, Incarnate Word, Kennesaw State, Mercer, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Pepperdine, Rutgers, Xavier, Idaho, Southern Illinois, and Little Rock.

The Cougs Last Time at the Red Sky Classic
Last year, the Cougars finished fourth at the GOLFWEEK Red Sky Classic after posting a team score of 578 (+2). The tournament’s third round was canceled due to inclement weather. Madelyn Gamble carded 144 (E) and play tied for 13th to post her second-consecutive top-15 finish. Darcy Habgood and Jiye Ham were also a part of the WSU squad that played at the GOLFWEEK Red Sky Golf Club last season. Habgood finished in a tie for 24th after she shot 1-over; 145 and Ham tied for 34th on the player leaderboard.
Last Time Out
In Coach Sofie Aagaard‘s WSU debut, the Cougars concluded the 2022 Badger Invitational in a three-way tie for fourth place with a team score of 876 (+12). Washington State’s finish in Madison make Coach Aagaard the first coach in program history to post a top-four finish in their debut tournament with the Cougars. WSU had three golfers finish in the top 20 on the player leaderboard.
