An, Bruins Improve Each Day at Blessings


FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The UCLA men’s golf team finished eighth out of 11 teams at 34-over 898 at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational on Wednesday. Freshman Kyle An recorded his second top-20 finish for the second tournament in a row, tying for 15th at 4-over to par.
 
An got better each day at the Blessings Golf Club, opening with a 75 and 73 in the first two rounds and closing with an even-par 72 today. An recorded two birdies and just two bogeys in his third round.
 
As a team, the Bruins lowered their score each da going 304-299-295.
 

Texas A&M took the tournament crown as the only team to finish under par after three rounds at 11-under. The Aggies defeated runner-up Ole Miss by 20 strokes.
 
Sophomore Pablo Ereño shot a bogey-free second nine on the front with two birdies in round three. Ereño tied for 28th at 8-over for the tournament (76-75-73).
 
Omar Morales and Lincoln Melcher both tied for 36th at 12-over. Morales was -3 through his first eight holes before a double bogey on the 18th.
 
Next Up: UCLA has a quick five-day turnaround before its next tournament at the Wolf Pack Classic hosted by Hidden Valley Country Club in Reno, Nev.
