ROSEMONT, Ill. – Coming off of the best 54-hole finish of his collegiate career, a tie for third and one stroke out of the individual title at the inaugural Folds of Honor Collegiate, University of Illinois sophomore Jackson Buchanan has been selected as the Big Ten Co-Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
Buchanan’s performance helped the Illini run away with the team title by 15 strokes.
- Posted a total of 212 (-4) to match his career-low, 54-hole score
- Carded rounds of 74, 70, and 68 to finish nearly six strokes below the course average of 76.63 for the week
- Recorded 45 of 54 holes at or below par, including 12 birdies and an eagle
It marks the first-career Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor for Buchanan, and the second of the season for the Illini. Adrien Dumont de Chassart also claimed the award on Sept. 21.
