Lopez Ramirez Named SEC Women’s Golfer of the Week

STARKVILLE – After a record-breaking opening round of play at the 2022 Blessings Collegiate Invitational, sophomore standout Julia Lopez Ramirez was tabbed SEC Women’s Golfer of the Week.
 
Lopez Ramirez used a hot start in the first round to fuel her way to her fourth career individual victory in the Blessings Collegiate Invitational. Lopez Ramirez paced the field from start to finish in her victory as she never dropped below second throughout the event. In the opening round, Lopez Ramirez broke the women’s records for Blessings Golf Club Course Record and Blessings Collegiate Invitational’s lowest round (65, 7-under par). In the final round, Lopez Ramirez delivered her 13^th round in the 60s, carding a 6-under par 66. Throughout the event, Lopez Ramirez sunk 19 birdies, most of the event. 
 
Lopez Ramirez was named SEC Golfer of the Week two times throughout her freshman campaign. Lopez Ramirez claimed her first career honor after winning the 2022 FAU Paradise Invitational on February 10, 2022, with the second coming on March 3, 2022, after securing the title at the 2022 Westbrook Invitational.
