Maryland to Close Out Fall Season at Quail Valley


VERO BEACH, FL – The Maryland men’s golf team is returning to the links for the final tournament of the fall season in the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational this week, hosted by Big Ten conference foe Michigan State University.
 
Over the two-day tournament (Oct. 16-17), the Terrapins will play the par-72 – 7,350-yard at the Quail Valley Golf Club designed by Tommy Fazio and Nick Price. 
 
The tournament will consist of 54-holes of play (36 holes on Sunday and 18 holes on Monday) in a shotgun format. Play on day one will begin at 8:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. on day two. 
 
The squad will be led by senior Will Celiberti of Ridgewood, N.J., senior Will Koras of Lutherville, Md., sophomore Florian Huerlimann of Heidelberg, Germany, freshman Ronnie Kim of Olney, Md. and senior Dillon Brown of Halifax, Mass. will round out the Terps’ lineup.
 
“We wrap up the fall season this weekend in Florida at Quail Valley,” said head coach John Phillips. “The venue is one of the nicest private clubs in South Florida, and we look forward to a great experience.”
 
Opponents from the Big Ten Conference include host Michigan State, Northwestern, Penn State, Rutgers, and Wisconsin.
 
Other participants in the invitational include Cincinnati, Liberty, Memphis, Missouri, North Florida, Northern Illinois, Norte Dame, South Florida, and Toledo.
