Women's Golf Finishes in the Top 5 at Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational


CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of Louisville women’s golf team finished the final round of Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational this afternoon, placing in a tie for 5th overall. This marks the best team finish of the season for the Cardinals, who shot 19-over-par 883 through three rounds of play.
 
The University of Kentucky topped the leader board, shooting 4-under-par 860 as a team.
 
Sophomore Carmen Griffiths finished in a tie for 6th place individually, carding a 1-under-par 215 (72-67-76). Griffiths was awarded with a plaque during the trophy ceremony for her ace on hole 14 in the second round of the tournament.
 
Graduate student Mairead Martin finished in a tie for 20th overall, carding 5-over-par 221 with her season best single round score of 71 in round two.  
 
In her first tournament of the season, Agustina Gomez Cisterna finished in a tie for 40th, shooting 10-over-par 226. Gabbi Bentancourt finished in a tie for 48th, carding a 12-over-par 228 and Rylee Suttor finished in a tie for 63rd with a score of 17-over-par 233.
 
The Cardinals will close out their fall season as they travel to Bowling Green, Ky. to play in The Club at Olde Stone Intercollegiate on Oct. 24-25.
