THIS WEEK
The University of Utah men’s golf team will hit the links only one more time in the fall and it will be at the Isleworth Collegiate, which will take place from Sunday through Tuesday at the Isleworth Golf and Country Club in Isleworth, Fla.
This is the second straight year UCF is hosting this event and in the 2021 edition, it was one of Utah’s Pac-12 rivals that posted the top score. Arizona State’s mark of 11-under allowed them to finish two shots ahead of second-place Illinois, but the Illini’s Piercen Hunt did card the competition’s best individual score at 7-under.
For the Utes, this is their second trip of the season to the east coast after starting the month with 54 holes at the Hamptons Intercollegiate in East Hampton, N.Y. The team placed sixth in that event and three players finished inside the top 20, led by Javier Barcos in seventh.
THE FIELD
There will be 15 teams in Isleworth trying to bring home the hardware, with Utah, California and Arizona representing the Pac-12. The rest of the field consists of Central Florida, North Florida, West Virginia, Augusta, Illinois, South Carolina, Minnesota, UNLV, Purdue, Auburn, LSU and Florida.
UTAH’S LINE-UP
The five Utes who will be teeing off in Florida are Javier Barcos, Hunter Howe, Braxton Watts, Martín León and Tanner Telford.

After slipping to second by shooting 1-over in the second round, Barcos…
