ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Stanford men’s golf held strong in fourth place at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate on Saturday with 18 holes to play. The Cardinal is six strokes back of first-place Georgia Tech, who is 21-under after 36 holes.

Junior Michael Thorbjornsen continues to lead Stanford at 6-under overall, going 2-under on Saturday. He is tied for fifth individually, four shots back of Hiroshi Tai (Georgia Tech). He recovered from a slow start to the day, posting three birdies and an eagle, along with a double-bogey, one bogey and 12 pars on the day.

Karl Vilips produced Stanford’s round of the day, firing a five-under, improving his score by eight shots from day one. Only two players featured better scores on Saturday in the 75-player field. Nate Menon and Barclay Brown both fired even-par 72s, rounded out by a 1-over day from Ethan Ng. Dean Greyserman (individual) joined Menon and Vilips at 2-under on the weekend after an even-par day, while Alex Yang (individual) finished Saturday at 2-over.
