Griffiths Picks Up First Career Win at Olde Stone Intercollegiate


BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Sophomore Carmen Griffiths recorded her first career individual win, leading the University of Louisville women’s golf team to third place at the Olde Stone Intercollegiate.
 
Griffiths carded a final score of 2-under-par 214 with single-round scores of 70, 73, and 71. The Cardinals have not had an individual win since Lauren Hartlage came in first at the Moon Golf Invitational in Feb. of 2019.
 
Sam Houston topped the team leaderboard with a final score of 10-over-par 874.
 
Mairead Martin finished a season-best seventh overall, carding 3-over-par 219. Lauren Thibodeau, who participated as an individual, finished a season-best ninth with a score of 5-over-par 221.
 
Gabbi Bentancourt finished a career-best tie for 14th overall with a final score of 7-over-par 223. Ryann Honea tied for 36th (14-over-par 230), Agustina Gomez Cisterna tied for 61st (23-over-par 239), Carly Haines tied for 28th (11-over-par 227), Molly Lyne was 43rd (16-over-par 232) and Rylee Suttor tied for 32nd (12-over-par 228).
 
The Cardinals will take some time off until their spring season begins on Feb. 19 when they host the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Fla.
