ATLANTA – Zoe Antoinette Campos sunk a 10-foot putt for birdie on the par-5 18th at East Lake Club to halve her match and clinch the UCLA women’s golf team a 2-1-2 victory over No. 6 Oregon in the consolation round of the East Lake Cup on Wednesday.
Her Bruin teammates stormed the green for a celebratory hug after Campos’ match-winning fist pump.
No. 24 Auburn claimed the East Lake Cup title with a 5-0 sweep of No. 3 Texas A&M.
Sophomore Caroline Canales took care of business again with her second win of the tournament, defeating the Ducks’ Brittany Shin on the 18th hole. Canales trailed by a stroke for much of the back nine when she won the par-4 17th with a birdie and par-5 18th with a par.
Nobilio also had some back nine magic, trailing Ashleigh Park by as much as three strokes with seven to play. Nobilio proceeded to with the 12th, 13th and 14th to tie the match. Park retook the lead on the 16th when, similar to Canales, she birdied the final two holes to win in walk-off fashion.
Emilie Paltrinieri also halved her match after coming back from a three-stroke deficit on the back nine against Hsin-Yu Lu.
Next Up: The Bruins close out their fall season at the annual Nanea Pac-12 Preview at Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. The 54-hole stroke play tournament begins next Monday, Oct. 31 and ends Wednesday, Nov. 2.
