Cal Closes Out Fall Season
KAILUA-KONA, HI – The Cal women’s golf team improved its team score by six strokes over the previous round and finished the Pac-12 Preview in seventh place Wednesday at Nanea Golf Club on the Big Island.
The Bears carded a 6-over par as a team in the final round, led by freshman Adora Liu’s career-best round of 1-under par. Cal finished the tournament at 9-over par, one shot behind No. 19 USC.
Freshman Jieming Yang was the Bears’ top individual finisher, placing in a tie for 11th place at even-par for the tournament. Junior Cristina Ochoa finished in a tie for 17th at 2-over par. Fellow junior Mika Jin tied for 21st at 4-over.
The Pac-12 Preview is an annual event that closes out the fall season and features all 11 conference teams that sponsor women’s golf, along with host Hawai’i.
No. 1 Stanford won the tournament at 18-under par.
The Bears open the spring season Feb. 3-7 at the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara Country Club.
