FANTASTIC FIELD SET FOR ARAMCO TEAM SERIES – JEDDAH

FANTASTIC FIELD SET FOR ARAMCO TEAM SERIES – JEDDAH

It’s been two weeks since the Hero Women’s Indian Open and the Ladies European Tour (LET) is back on the road for the penultimate event of the 2022 season.

The Aramco Team Series – Jeddah will see an individual 54-hole stroke play tournament take place alongside a 36-hole Team event with each tournament having a prize pool of USD $500,000.

Last year’s Individual champion Pia Babnik is ready to defend her title at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club alongside a plethora of winners from 2022.

Two of the individual champions from 2022 are in contention once again with England’s Bronte Law – who took home the spoils individually in London earlier this year – and Belgium’s Manon De Roey, the winner in Bangkok, both back looking for more success.

Germany’s Olivia Cowan won last time out in India, and she is joined by Klara Spilkova (KPMG Women’s Irish Open), Liz Young (VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open), Anne-Charlotte Mora (Åland 100 Ladies Open by Ålandsbanken), Jana Melichova (Tipsport Czech Ladies Open), Tiia Koivisto (Jabra Ladies Open) and Ana Peláez Trivino (Madrid Ladies Open).

There are former Race to Costa del Sol champions in attendance with England’s Georgia Hall, the victor at the Aramco Saudi Ladies International in March, compatriot Charley Hull, South Africa’s Lee-Anne Pace – a winner on the LET in 2022 – and Norway’s Suzann Pettersen.

It is a return to a professional tournament for Pettersen, who will be the European Solheim Cup Captain at the 2023 Solheim Cup, as it is the first time, she will tee it up since her perfect swansong at Gleneagles in 2019.

Within the field of 108 players is also two-time winning European Solheim Cup Captain Catriona Matthew, while there are also Americans Alison Lee – who won individually in Sotogrande in 2021 – as well as Lindsey Weaver-Wright and Kelly Whaley.

Germany’s Chiara Noja, who has secured playing rights on the LET for 2023 through the LET Access Series will also be hoping to follow up her T11 finish in New York.
