KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Head coach Diana Cantú announced the addition of three new members to the Lady Vol family Wednesday.

Angela Arora will be joining the squad this spring from Surrey, British Columbia. This year, Arora notched first-place finishes at the NextGen Pacific Championship and the CJGA Western Canadian Championship. The Canada native also placed second at the PNGA Women’s Championship and made the cup at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship. Arora is a member of Team Canada (junior and amateur) and the Canada Junior National Team.

“Angela’s work ethic and passion for the game has given her much success as a junior golfer, and I see Angela making an immediate impact on our team,” Cantú said. “Her game is consistent and mature. Angela has big dreams for her career, and we look forward to helping her achieve them. We are happy to welcome her to our Lady Vol family.”

Tennessee also signed Sofie Engeseth of Oslo, Norway. Engeseth has recorded multiple first-place finishes in 2022, including the Norwegian Srixon Tour 6, Norwegian Srixon Tour 9 and the Srixon Norwegian Winter Open. In addition to her wins, Engeseth placed second in the French Ladies International U18 bracket and made it to the Round of 32 at the Girl’s British Championship.

“Sofie has incredible potential, and we cannot be more excited to have her join our program next fall,” Cantúsaid. “She is strong and hits the ball far. Her dedication and aspirations are going to take her very far in her golf career and she will be a huge asset to our program.”

To round out the Lady Vol signees is Martina López-Lanchares of San Sebastian, Spain. A member of the Spanish National Team, López-Lanchares took home the winning trophy at the Sergio Garcia Junior Championship (2022) and at the PGA Catalunya Amateur Cup (2021). This year, the Spain native made it to the Round of 32 at the Spanish International Ladies Amateur and French Ladies International.

“We are excited to have Martina join the Lady Vols next fall,” Cantú said. “Her strength in distance and ball striking is going to help her easily adapt to college golf. She has a fantastic personality and strives to get better every day.”
