TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Women’s Golf legend Linnea Strom continues to get it done at the professional level and recently received an extremely prestigious honor.
Strom won 2022 Epson Tour Player of the Year after an incredible professional campaign. She recorded seven top-10 finishes this year, highlighted by a victory at the IOA Championship in March. Strom currently tops the Epson Tour money list, having accumulated $119,190 in 17 events this season.
Thanks to her incredible efforts this season, Strom has earned a spot on the LPGA Tour for 2023. This will be her second stint at the highest level of female professional golf, previously competing on the LPGA Tour from 2019-21. She finished fifth on the money list for the Epson Tour back in 2018, winning Gaelle Truet Rookie of the Year. She improved upon that in 2022, emerging as the circuit’s top competitor.
“I’m going to try and bring that momentum into the off-season,” Strom told LPGA.com. “I’m very excited for next season and to see how my game compares to the LPGA Tour right now.”
The Hovas, Sweden native had success in her first appearance on the LPGA Tour, including a T-13th finish at the 2020 U.S. Women’s Open. She has three career Top-10 finishes while earning over $500,000 of prize money during her professional career. Strom will once again be competing with fellow Sun Devils Anna Nordqvist, Carlota Ciganda, Azahara Munoz, and Linn Grant on the LPGA Tour.
Before turning pro midway through her junior season, Strom put together one of the most decorated careers by a Sun Devil golfer. She played on the 2017 National Championship team, earning 2017 WGCA First Team All-American honors. In both her seasons in the Maroon & Gold, Strom was selected as a First Team All-American. She won the 2016 Pac-12 Championship as a freshman, setting the 54-hole conference record with a 11-under 205.
The 2023 LPGA Tour schedule starts Feb. 23-26 with the Honda LPGA Thailand at Siam Country Club.
