Tiger Woods OUT of Hero World Challenge through…

Tiger Woods is OUT of this week’s Hero World Challenge. 

The 15-time major champion’s latest comeback has been put on hold after he sustained a foot injury preparing for this week’s event in the Bahamas. 

Woods took to social media to reveal that he has developed plantar fasciitis in his right foot, which has made it difficult for him to walk. 

As a result, just 19 days after confirming he would play at Albany Golf Club, he has been forced to withdraw.

“In preparation and practice for this week’s Hero World Challenge, I’ve developed platar fasciitis in my right foot, which is making it difficult to walk,” wrote Woods. “After consulting with my doctors and trainers, I have decided to withdraw this week and focus on my hosting duties.”

Woods’ place in the field has been taken by world No.29 Sepp Straka.

Plantar fasciitis is inflammation of the plantar fascia, a part of the foot that connects the heel bone to the toes, and it is particularly common amongst long distance runners.

Symptoms include pain around the heel and arch of your foot. It can usually be treated with rest, ice packs and comfortable shoes.
