Bruins, Ereño Rise on Day Two of Southwestern Invitational


WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. – The UCLA men’s golf team jumped two spots into a tie for seventh following a 6-over 294 in the second round of the Southwestern Invitational at North Ranch Country Club on Tuesday. Sophomore Pablo Ereño posted the second lowest score in the field with a 3-under 69 that featured five birdies on the back nine.
 
Ereño rose nine spots and is currently in a tie for sixth a 4-under for the tournament. This marks the first time this season that Ereño has posted back-to-back under par rounds.
 
No. 20 Texas remains in first place at 16-under for the tournament with a 15-stroke lead over Oregon. Ereño trails Longhorn Jacob Sosa by five strokes for the individual lead.
 
Senior Mason Greene recorded the Bruins’ second-best score of the day with a 2-under 70.
 
Omar Morales also moved up in the standings to t-26th following another 2-over 74.
