STATESBORO, Ga. – Transfer Lansdon Robbins led the group of four Gamecocks competing in the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate with a T-6th finish on Monday. It marks his first career top-10 in Garnet & Black.
It’s the fourth top-10 of his career dating back to his junior season at UNC Wilmington in 2020-21.
Robbins posted a 54-hole total of 216 with rounds of 70, 72 and 74. He finished the tournament T-4th in par-3 scoring average at 2.92 (-1).
Junior Rafe Reynolds T-17th with a 54-hole total of 220 (+4). He posted a 4-under 68 in round two in which he made six birdies and turned in a 5-under, bogey free front nine at the George Southern University Course. Freshman Zach Adams, T-37th in the 62-man field with a score of 229 (+13). Sophomore Gene Zeigler also competed this week but withdrew after 36 holes.
The Gamecock trio of Robbins (11), Reynolds (11) and Adams (10) each posted double-digit birdies.
Carolina opens the spring season on Sunday at the Puerto Rico Classic. It’ll mark the team’s second straight season kicking off the spring at the event. It’s a strong field with a mix of SEC and Big Ten teams. No. 8 Tennessee, No. 15 Oklahoma, No. 23 Ole Miss and No. 24 Ohio State are the top-25 teams in the 13-squad field.
