MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women’s golf is headed out west to Peoria, Arizona to host the 2023 Westbrook Invitational at the Westbrook Village Golf Club. The 54-hole tournament will take place from February 26-27.
Here are five things to know before the Badgers tee off:
1. Last Time Out: The Badgers started off the spring season at the Paradise Invitational in Boca Raton, Florida, where they placed 12th after carding a 884 (+20, 301-289-294). Emily Lauterbach finished the tournament with an even par, landing her T15. Vanessa Ho tallied a +5 to T32 while Chloe Chan finished T41 with a +7. Gia Feliciano shot a +10 to T53 and Nicole Ciskowski rounded out the lineup with a +14 to T64. Carly Carter competed as an individual for the Badgers, carding a +10 to T53.
2. The Course: The 2023 Westbrook Invitational will be held at the Westbrook Village Golf Club in Peoria, Arizona on the Vistas Course. Designed by Ken Kavanaugh, the course features a mix of both desert landscape and traditional golf design. The Invitational will be played at 6248 yards as a par 72.
3. The Tournament: The Westbrook Invitational will be played on Sunday, Feb. 26 and Monday, Feb. 27, with 36 holes being played on Sunday and 18 holes on Monday. Tee off on both days will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The Badgers have hosted this annual tournament dating back to 2012 and it’s well-known for a large crowd of fans from the local community cheering on the golfers throughout the course.
4. The Field: Teams competing in the invitational include College of Charleston, Denver, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Penn State, UNLV and Wisconsin. In the lineup for the Badgers are Emily Lauterbach, Vanessa Ho, Gia Feliciano, Chloe Chan and Alexia Siehl. Carly Carter will be joining Wisconsin as an individual.
