Blue Devils Travel to Pinehurst No. 2 For Wake Forest Invitational

PINEHURST – The Duke men’s golf team returns to the course, participating in the Wake Forest Invitational at Pinehurst No. 2 on March 6 and 7. The Blue Devils’ lineup is one of 12 competing on the par-70, 7,125-yard course.

Duke is joined in the field by hosts Wake Forest – who have two lineups competing – along with Charleston, Clemson, East Tennessee State, Iowa, NC State, Northwestern, SMU, UNC Greensboro and Virginia.

The Blue Devils’ lineup consists of Ian Siebers, William Love, Luke Sample, Kelly Chinn and Ethan Evans. Daniel Choi is also traveling to No. 2 and is set to compete as an individual. Play begins on Monday morning, with 36 holes scheduled for the first day of play. The first round starts at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start and Duke slated to play alongside SMU and NC State on Monday. The Blue Devils tee off on No. 5-8 on Monday. Pairings for the final round are determined based on standings after Monday’s rounds are completed.

Love is back in Duke’s lineup after claiming individual medalist honors while competing as an individual at the Dorado Beach Collegiate last week. The freshman finished at 17-under 199 in Puerto Rico, a new program record for score to par. As a team, the Blue Devils finished in second place with a 36-under, 828, effort. Duke made the most birdies of any team over the three-day event, rolling in 79, and logged the fourth-best team score to par in program history. Siebers carded a 12-under 202 to lead the Blue Devils’ lineup, which set new season-lows for both total score and score to par. The junior’s 202 total score tied for sixth-best in program history.

Live scoring for the event is available through Golfstat.
