No. 7 Women’s Wrap-Up Shortened Gators Invitational Tied for Second

Gainesville, Fla. – The Golf Dawgs faced an interesting situation walking onto the course on Sunday. The two-day Gators Invitational had been shortened to 36-holes due to heavy rain on Saturday. Led by three top-20 efforts on the scorecard, State tied for second, carding 7-over (567).
 
The Bulldogs were locked in a fierce battle down the stretch as the Mark Bostick Golf Course set the stage for the 51^st annual Gators Invitational. Heading into the final three holes, State held a one-stroke advantage over No. 25 UCF who were both vying for second place. The Bulldog’s two top-10 finishes from the senior/sophomore duo of Hannah Levi and Julia Lopez Ramirez allowed MSU to stay in second through the finish line and tie with UCF.
 
Levi used two consecutive rounds in the 60s (69) to help State remain at the top of the leaderboard throughout the two days. Levi finished fourth shooting 2-under par (138) to earn her eighth top-five finish. Levi now has ten rounds in the 60s in her Bulldog career.
 
Julia Lopez Ramirez carded her 34^th round of par or better golf (70, E) in the final round to climb up the leaderboard to finish tied for 5th. Lopez Ramirez now has five top-five finishes in eight events played this season.
 
Izzy Pellot picked up where she left off in her past two SEC Freshmen of the Week efforts, picking up another top-15 finish. Pellot finished 13^th (3-over par) and now has six top-20 finishes in seven events played in the Maroon and White.
 
Abbey Daniel and Surapa Janthamunee round out the scoring for the Bulldogs carding 74 (4-over) and 76 (6-over) in the final round to finish tied for 27th and tied for 46th respectfully.
 
Competing individually, Jarutrawee Khotchagrai notched a stellar performance in Gainesville. JK carded her lowest 18 to par (70) to finish tied for 17^th with 4-over par.
