USC Women's Golf 2 Back Midway Through Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational

Women’s Golf | March 06, 2023

Junior Brianna Navarrosa and sophomore Amari Avery are both 2-under par while freshman Catherine Park is 1-under, the two leading the No. 11 USC women’s golf team into second place after just over 27 holes of the three-round 2023 Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational on Monday (March 6) in Fairfax, Calif.

The Trojans, who opened play with a 1-under first round, were a collective 6-under, two back of top-ranked Stanford and five clear of No. 5 San Jose State when play was called due to darkness on a day when rain and hail caused a pair of postponements of some 90 minutes.

Navarrosa turned in her second round under par in her last three with an opening 2-under 70 that saw her open with three birdies in her first four holes. She then strung together three straight birdies between 13 and 15 when second-round play was called.

Avery, tied for fourth with Navarrosa, opened with a par 72 and is 2-under through 12 in the second round. Both players are five off the lead. Park is tied for seventh at -1under.

Senior Malia Nam, coming off a season-best effort last week in Houston, is tied for 15th at 1-over while junior Christine Wang is tied for 48th at 6-over and has a 2-under second round going through 10 holes.
