Women's Golf Ties for 11th at Briar's Creek Invitational

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. – Rutgers women’s golf wrapped up play at the Briar’s Creek Invitational on Tuesday afternoon in South Carolina. Competing in a stout field of six programs ranked in the top 50 and five Big Ten teams, the Scarlet Knights finished in a tie for 11th place out of 16.

After shooting 297 in the first and second rounds, RU came home with a 303 to finish the event with an 897 and move up a spot from where it stood heading into the final round,

“This was one of the toughest fields and golf courses we will face all year and it was a good test for us,” head coach Kari Williams said.  “Everyone contributed to our team score and I saw good stretches of golf from everyone. We learned a lot from the experience and will build on it as we head into the closing stretch of our season.”

Nicole Ewing once again put forth a strong effort for Rutgers, leading the team with a t-32 finish and shooting a 6-over 222 for the tournament. Her 2-over 74 in the final round also paced RU and included three birdies.
