SAN FRANCISCO – The UCLA men’s golf team is tied for 13th out of 28 teams after round one at The Goodwin at TPC Harding Park on Thursday. The Bruins shot a collective 6-over 282 and trail first-place No. 8 Stanford by 13 strokes.
Sophomore Pablo Ereño recorded UCLA’s lowest score of the day with a 1-under 69 featuring five birdies for his third sub-70 showing of the season. He is in a tie for 14th. Ereño has shot under par in five of his last seven rounds with a 71.0 scoring average in the stretch.
Omar Morales is tied for 28th with his even-par 70 in round one. Senior Mason Greene is tied for 85th at 3-over.
Washington’s Bo Peng and Stanford’s Barclay Brown sit atop the individual leaderboard with scores of 4-under 66.
The Bruins tee off for round two on hole 10 tomorrow, beginning at 1:05 p.m. (PT).
