Cougs set for the 2023 Chevron Silverado Showdown


NAPA, California – The Washington State women’s golf team is set to play in its final regular season tournament before the Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championship, as the Cougars head to the 2023 Cheveron Silverado Resort April 3-5 to play in the 2023 Silverado Showdown.

The Course and Tournament Format

The 2023 Cheveron Silverado Showdown is hosted by both Colorado and Oregon. The tournament will be held at the Silverado Resort North Course, a 6,146-yard course in Napa, California that plays as a par 72.

Teams will play one 18-hole round per day at the Silverado Showdown, with play starting Monday, April 3, and concluding Wednesday, April 5. Each round of the Silverado Showdown will begin at 8 a.m. PT.

The Field

The 2023 Chevron Silverado Showdown features host schools in Colorado and Oregon. Washington State, San Jose State, Arizona, USC, Arizona State, Texas A&M, UCLA, Oregon State, Pepperdine, Ohio State, San Francisco, California, Northwestern, Texas State, and Washington will also be in attendance in Napa this weekend to play in the tournament.

Last Time Out

Fifth-year senior Darcy Habgood finished the 2023 PING ASU Invitational in a tie for 15th, as the Nambucca Heads, Australia native carded 2-over 218 over her three-day stay at Papago Golf Course.

Habgood capped off the PING ASU Invitational by shooting under par for the second time in her three rounds of play at Papago. Habgood posted her best round of the tournament on Sunday by carding 2-under 70. The fifth-year senior got the third round started by collecting three-straight birdies. Her finish at the PING ASU Invitational marks the third time this spring that Habgood has posted a top-15 finish at a tournament. The Australian golfer led the tournament in par-3 scoring, as she shot 4-under on par-3 holes.

Washington State concluded the 2023 PING ASU Invitational in 16th place after the Cougars shot 904 (+40) over their three days of play at Papago Golf Course. WSU capped off its stay in the desert by carding 16-over 304 in Sunday’s third round.
