Chang Leads Bears On Day Two
NAPA – Led by senior Tzu-Yi Chang, the California women’s golf team moved up two spots on day two of the Silverado Showdown on Tuesday.
The Golden Bears enjoyed a top-half second-round finish within a talented 17-team field, posting the eighth-best team score of 12-over 300. They head into the final day of competition Wednesday in sole possession of 10th place.
Chang improved five shots from her day one effort, carding a team-low 1-over 73 in round two to move into a tie for 31st individually.
Junior Mika Jin remained consistent, recording the Bears’ second-best score for the second consecutive day. She and graduate student Annika Borrelli put up an identical score of 3-over 75. Jin is now tied for 36th place.
Freshman Olivia Lee made her contributions as well, rounding out the Bears’ scorers with a 5-over 77.
The Bears will look to continue rising up the team leaderboard tomorrow when they tee off with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.
