NAPA, Calif. – Washington junior golfer Stefanie Deng finished in a tie for eighth place to lead the Washington women’s golf team at the Silverado Showdown, which wrapped up Wednesday.
In round three, Deng, who posted the lowest round among the Huskies in all three rounds, shot an even-par 72, with a scorecard that included five birdies, including on No. 9, her final hole of the tournament. She finished the tournament with a three-day total of 4-over 220.
Washington finished the tournament in 12th place as a steam, with a three-day score of 917.
The eighth-place finish tied for the best of the year for Deng, who also finished eighth at the Causeway Invitational in February. It tied for the third-highest finish of her UW career, after a seventh place last year and a third place as a freshman in 2021.
Brittany Kwon had the next-lowest score of the day for the Huskies, with a 4-over 76. The three other UW players each shot 6-over 78s on the final day.
Next for the Huskies is the Pac-12 Championships, April 17-19, at Papago Golf Course in Phoenix.
