Women's Golf Central: SEC Championship


BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Tennessee’s women’s golf team is set to kick off its postseason at the SEC Championship this week, hosted at Greystone Golf and Country Club, running April 12-16.
 
The opening days of competition will consist of three rounds of stroke play, with one round being played each day. The top eight teams will advance to match play, with the quarterfinals and semifinals being played on Saturday and the finals on Sunday. The championship match will be televised live on SEC Network.
 
All 14 SEC teams will be in attendance, with eight teams currently ranked inside Golfstat‘s top 25.
 
LADY VOLS’ LINEUP
Angela Arora
Arora, who joined the Lady Vols in January 2023, notched three top-25 finishes in her first four collegiate tournaments. The freshman recorded a first-place finish at the Clover Cup in March, shooting -11 overall to post the second-lowest 54-hole score in program history, earning her SEC Golfer of the Week accolades. Arora recorded a 72.25 stroke average and logged seven rounds of par or better this spring.
 
Manassanan Chotikabhukkana
Last time out, Chotikabhukkana posted her third top-15 finish of the season, tying for 14th place (-1) at the Clemson Invitational. Her best finish of the season was at the Landfall Tradition in October, where she shot -2 to tie for 14th place. The freshman holds a 72.81 stroke average and leads the Lady Vols in rounds of par or better at 13 so far this year.
 
Vanessa Gilly
Gilly logged a 73.15 stroke average and nine rounds of par or better in the regular season. The junior’s best outing came at the ICON Invitational in February, where she shot -3 overall to tie for 20th place. Gilly, who competed in all nine tournaments, recorded three top-25 finishes during the regular season.
 
Caroline Patterson
Patterson notched a 73.54 stroke average with six rounds of par or better in eight tournaments this season. The freshman earned SEC Freshman of the Week after an impressive performance of the regular season came at the ICON Invitational in February, where she shot -3 to tie for 20th place. Patterson recorded three top-25 finishes and led Tennessee in rounds in the 60s (4) this season.
 
Emily Hawkins
Rounding out the lineup is Hawkins, who averaged a 75.50 in four tournament appearances. The graduate’s best outing was at the Clover Cup in March, where she shot notched a 54-hole score of 224 (+5) to record her first top-25 finish (T24) as a Lady Vol.
