COLUMBIA, Mo. — Using sub-par tallies from sophomore Hunter Thomson (212, -4) and junior Will Anderson (215, -1), the University of Michigan men’s golf team posted an 871 54-hole total today (Tuesday, April 11) to finish 13th at Missouri’s Tiger Intercollegiate played at the Club at Old Hawthorne.
Using a career-low-tying 69 (-3) from grad transfer James Hill and even-par 72s from Anderson and senior Jude Kim, the Maize and Blue posted an even-par 288 in the first round to sit 10th. Using six birdies, Thomson highlighted U-M’s second round by carding a 67 (-5), while Anderson followed with a 71 (-1). Posting a 73, sophomore Yuqi Liu was disqualified after signing an incorrect scorecard. With 580 total, U-M closed the first day 14th.
With two more of his 11 birdies as well as an eagle on his second to last hole, Thomson posted a 70 (-2) on the second day of action and Anderson had an even-par 72 as the Maize and Blue finished one position higher in 13th with an 871 total.
