No. 18 MSU Ends Regular Season With Eighth Top-Five Finish


FRANKLIN, Tenn. – No. 18 Mississippi State finished the regular season in fourth at the Mason Rudolph Championship. The team shot 7-under 845 for the tournament, just two strokes back from Ole Miss and four back from Tennessee to record its eighth top-five finish of the season. 

Garrett Endicott finished tied for ninth, recording his fourth individual top-10 finish this season. He shot 4-under 209 through three rounds with 11 total birdies and back-to-back rounds in the 60s.

Pedro Cruz Silva, who competed as an individual, finished in a seven-way tie for 18th, marking a seven-spot jump from his second-round finish. The junior went bogey-free for 23-straight holes in the second and third rounds. He shot a 2-under 69 for the day to end play at 1-under. 

Ford Clegg shot even in the third round to place 25th. He made four birdies and an eagle on the No. 14 hole. The Bulldog graduate is now tied for the school record in career rounds played with Garrett Johnson (147, 2016-20).       

Ruan PretoriusHunter Logan and Alejandro Pedryc all tied for 26th at 2-over 215.

Logan’s day was highlighted by a hole-in-one on No. 3 pin. He was one of two players in the field to ace a hole. The senior added three birdies to end the day at 1-under 70.

Pretorius made back-to-back birdies on five separate occasions throughout the tournament.

The men’s golf team now turns its attention to postseason play and the SEC Championship in St. Simons Island, Georgia, on April 19-23.
