WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Wisconsin men’s golf has completed the 2022-23 regular season with a fourth place finish at the Boilermaker Invitational.
The Badgers finished eight-under par at Ackerman-Allen Golf Course, totaling a 280-280-284=844. Host No. 38 Purdue won the Invitational at 30-under par, after carding an impressive 16-under in the final round, while No. 11 Oklahoma trailed closely behind with a 29-under par to earn second.
Graham Moody led the way for the Badgers, tying for fourth place overall with a seven-under (69-67-70=206). Moody set three career-low records for himself throughout the invitational, with an 18-hole low of 67, a 36-hole low of 136 and a 54-hole low of 206.
Saturday, April 15
Round 3
Wisconsin completed the final round of the Boilermaker Invitational with a 284 (E), ending tied for fourth place.
Moody, Coalter Smith and Max Schwarz each carded a one-under 70. Smith and Schwarz tallied three birdies each, while Moody led the pack with five birdies to bring his tournament total to 15 birdies.
Maxime Legros and Clayton Tribus each ended the rounded with one-over pars, and Cameron Huss shot a four-over 75.
Round 2
The Badgers shot another 280 (-4) in the second round of play, securing a spot tied for third at the end of the round.
Moody continued his reign in the top-5, shooting a career-low 18-hole score of 67 (-4) to end the round tied for first. Huss also found himself in the top-5 again, carding a two-over par to tie for fifth.
Legros improved his score by five strokes for a three-under par thanks to four birdies and Tribus talied a one-over 72. Smith shot a two-over par to round out the lineup, while Schwarz carded a four-over par as an individual competitor.
Friday, April 14
Round 1
Wisconsin started the invitational off strong, carding a 280 (-4) in the first round of play to end the day tied for second.
Huss led the Badgers, shooting a personal best 18-hole score of 65 (-6). Huss tallied an eagle and five birdies throughout the first round, completing the day in first place.
Moody joined Huss in the top-5, shooting a two-under par thanks to five birdies. Tribus and Legros each carded a two-over par with matching eagles on the fifth hole. Smith rounded out the lineup with a four-over par, while Schwarz, competing as an individual, shot a five-over par.
