PHOENIX – Washington State women’s golf sophomore Madelyn Gamble posted her second-straight under par round at the 2023 Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championship, as she ended the second round sitting inside the top five on the player leaderboard.
Gamble moved into a tie for fourth place on the player leaderboard after carding 2-under 70 in the second round of the Pac-12 Championship. The Pleasant Hill, California native heads into Wednesday’s finale with a two-round score of 3-under 141, just six strokes off the lead and two strokes behind second place.
As a team, Washington State shaved four strokes off its team score in the second round as the Cougars carded 5-over 293. WSU moved up to ninth place on the team leaderboard on Tuesday, as the Cougs head into the third and final round of the 2023 Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championship holding a two-day score of 14-over 590.
Freshman Lily McCauley remained in the top 30 on the player leaderboard through two rounds of play at the Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championship, as she shot 1-over 73 on Tuesday. McCauley sits in a tie for 27th on the player leaderboard after 36 holes of play with a score of 3-over 147.
No. 14 Southern California and No. 29 Arizona sit in a tie for first place at the end of the second round of the Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championship, as each team holds a team score of 8-under 568. Stanford’s Rose Zhang sits in the pole position on the player leaderboard with a two-round score of 9-under 135.
The third and final round of the 2023 Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championship will take place this Wednesday, April 19, at Papago Golf Club. The Cougars will tee off between 8:26-9:06 a.m. PT. Fans can follow all of the action via live results via Golfstat.com.
