Caleb Surratt is a rising star in the world of collegiate golf. While still in his teenage years, Surratt has already become known for his exceptional talent and impressive resume. Born in Indian Trail, North Carolina, Surratt developed a passion for the game at an early age and then quickly made a name for himself in the golfing community.

 

From the first time Surratt picked up a golf club, he showed a natural aptitude for the sport and began honing his skills through diligent practice and unwavering determination. As his game matured, Surratt started competing in junior golf tournaments, where he routinely demonstrated his talent and drive to succeed.

 

One of Surratt’s earliest accomplishments was a runner-up finish at the 2022 U.S. Junior Amateur, where he first garnered national attention. Surratt continued to flourish as he rose through the ranks of junior golfers, being recognized as the No. 2 player in the country by Junior Golf Scoreboard and getting selected as one of six players on the 2021 USA Junior Ryder Cup team.

 

He also claimed notable tournament wins, including the Junior PGA Championship, the Western Junior Championship, the Bobby Chapman Invitational and the Terra Cotta Amateur, showcasing his consistent excellence on the golf course with each passing victory.

 

Thanks to his exceptional abilities and dedication to the sport, Surratt was given the prestigious title of the No. 1 amateur golfer in the world on July 20, 2022, according to Data Golf Amateur Ranking.

 

In 2022, Surratt embarked on his collegiate golf journey at the University of Tennessee, where he continues to make waves with his remarkable performances. As a freshman, he has quickly established himself as a key player on this Vols team, earning the title of SEC Freshman of the Week and SEC Golfer of the Week for his outstanding play in tournaments. He has helped lead the team to multiple victories and has recorded impressive finishes in several tournaments, including setting a new program record for best 54-hole score in relation to par, shooting 18 under in his first collegiate tournament at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate.
