Bulldogs Fall To Tennessee In SEC Championship Quarterfinals

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – No. 18 Mississippi State saw its SEC Championship run end in the quarterfinals of match play with a 3-2 loss to top-seeded No. 13 Tennessee.

Ford Clegg won his matchup 2&1 against Bryce Lewis. Lewis held a one-hole advantage over Clegg through seven holes before the Bulldog leveled it on hole No. 8. The pair went seven-straight holes tied before Clegg won the 15th hole and clinched it on the 17th.

Austin Vukovits defeated Jake Hall 1-up. After trailing through the first nine holes, Vukovits tied the matchup at the turn. The pair would be tied for six of the next seven holes before Vukovits clinched his match on hole No. 17.

Hunter Logan fell to the SEC individual champion, Caleb Surratt, 2&1. The senior was able to cut the deficit to just one hole through 14, but Surratt won the 15th by one stroke.

Ruan Pretorius lost his match to Laurent Desmarchais, 4&3. Garrett Endicott fell to Josh Hill at 5&3.
