Meyers Surges into Top 10 Saturday at Kepler Intercollegiate

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Penn State men’s golf senior Jimmy Meyers surged into the top 10 to lead the Nittany Lions in the second round of the Kepler Intercollegiate Saturday at Ohio State’s Scarlet Course.
 
The Nittany Lions sit in fifth place in the 16-team field through the second round. The top six teams will tee off the third round beginning at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, while the other teams open third round action this evening.  
 
Meyers moved up 21 spots on the individual leaderboard thanks to his strong second round performance, shooting a 2-under 69. He is tied for eighth at 1-over, 143, heading into Sunday’s final round.
 
Patrick Sheehan is tied for 23rd at 5-over, 147, after finishing the second round at 6-over, 77.
 
Junior James Allen carded a 3-over, 74, in the second round and is tied for 30th at 6-over, 148.
 
Freshman Jake Griffin carded a 2-over, 73, in the second round to move up 19 spots to a tie for 51st at 9-over, 151.
 
Freshman Billy Pabst Jr. shot a 5-over, 76, in the second round and is tied for 57th at 10-over, 152.
 
Freshman Jack Zubkus, playing as an individual, is tied for 67th at 13-over, 155. He recorded a 7-over, 78, in the second round.
