Two University of Washington women’s golfers – Camille Boyd and Stefanie Deng – have earned a berth in the 2023 NCAA Women’s Golf Championships. Boyd and Deng will both compete at the NCAA Regional at Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Wash., May 8-10.

The format for the NCAA Women’s Golf Championships is set up with six, 54-hole competitions at six sites, where 12 teams and six individuals (not on any of the teams) compete. The low five teams and low individual not on those teams advance to the finals (May 19-24 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.), where 30 teams and six individuals will compete in 54 holds of stroke play.

After three rounds (54 holes), the top 15 teams and nine individuals not on an advancing team play one more round of stroke play to determine both the individual NCAA champion, and the eight teams that advance to match play for the team title.

Boyd and Deng finished the season with the team’s two lowest scoring averages. Deng was the UW’s top finisher at Pac-12 Championships, where she tied for 11th place. She had top-10 finishes at The Causeway Invitational and the Silverado Showdown this spring, finishing eighth at both. She’s been UW’s low scorer at the last three tournaments this spring.

Boyd was the UW’s top performer at six of 10 events this season. Her top finish of the 2022-23 season was a tie for second place at The Causeway Invitational, while she also finished in a tie for seventh at the Mason Rudolph Championship last fall.
