STANFORD, Calif. — With the Western Intercollegiate of two weeks prior now a distant memory, the Washington men’s golf team is poised to defend its conference reign at the Pac-12 Championships at Stanford Golf Course this Friday-Sunday, April 28-30.

Washington hosted last year’s conference championships at Aldarra Golf Club in Sammamish, Wash., where the Huskies secured the team title and Noah Woolsey claimed the individual crown.

“The Pac-12 Championships are always one of the most enjoyable and competitive tournaments of the year and we are excited to defend our title at Stanford,” said UW coach Alan Murray. “We have had a good couple of weeks of practice since the Western Intercollegiate and the guys are excited to compete.”

Though the Huskies seek to repeat as conference champions away from their home greens, they do so at a familiar venue, one where they showed superbly in 2022. The Goodwin tournament was hosted at Stanford’s home course last season, where the Huskies logged a first-place finish. The UW golfers who enjoyed success at this site last season will look to impart wisdom on their teammates who have yet to set foot on the course.

“We have three guys that played in our lineup at The Goodwin last year who are playing again this year, so they will be able to help the first-time visitors adapt to the golf course and share the subtle intricacies of it,” Murray said.

The twelve teams will compete over 72 holes during a period of three days from April 28-30.  The opening round will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, and round two will unfold in the afternoon. Round three follows on Saturday, and a fourth and final round will take place Sunday.

Washington will call upon the following team of six to bring the title home once more:

  1. Petr Hruby
  2. Bo Peng
  3. Taehoon Song
  4. Teddy Lin
  5. Joshua Koo
  6. Robert Galligan

Several of the conference foes which Washington will contend with boast national rankings among the Top-25, headlined by Arizona State at No.4, Stanford at No. 9, and Arizona at No. 18. The stakes were similar for the Dawgs in last year’s Pac-12 Championships, when they rallied to win the title with a team total of 1,422…
