Chotikabhukkana, Arora Receive SEC Honors

Manassanan Chotikabhukkana and Angela Arora earned SEC accolades, the conference announced Thursday.

Chotikabhukkana and Arora were both named to the SEC All-Freshman Team, the first time in program history two Lady Vols have received the award in the same season. Chotikabhukkana also earned a spot on the SEC Community Service Team.

Chotikabhukkana has tabbed an impressive inaugural year as a Lady Vol. She holds a 73.10 season stroke average and leads the team in rounds of par or better with 14 heading into NCAA Regionals. The freshman totaled four top-25 regular season finishes and is one of two Lady Vols to compete in all 10 scheduled tournaments. Her best outing came at the Landfall Tradition in October, where she shot -2 to tie for 13th place, earning her SEC weekly honors.

The Bangkok, Thailand, native has done tremendous outreach work through Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America in Knoxville. Some of her contributions include mentoring the youth and serving holiday meals.

Arora, who joined Tennessee in January 2023, holds a 73.07 spring stroke average going into NCAA Regionals, the lowest on the team, and recorded three top-25 finishes in her first four collegiate tournaments. Her spring slate is highlighted by her individual tournament title at the Clover Cup in March, where she shot three rounds in the 60s to post an impressive 11-under score, the second lowest in program history. Her championship title earned her SEC Golfer of the Week accolades and is Tennessee’s first individual tournament champion under second-year head coach Diana Cantu.

Chotikabhukkana, Arora and the Lady Vols begin NCAA Regional competition on Monday, May 8, at the Westfield Regional as the No. 7 seed.
